Catskill Animal Sanctuary
Located in the Catskills region of upstate New York, the Catskill Animal Sanctuary is home to 11 animal species who were rescued from abusive and neglectful situations. More than 5,000 animals have called the sanctuary home since a snowy day in January 2001 when a tiny pony named Dino became the first animal to grace the sanctuary grounds. The sanctuary’s mission statement for the animals who suffered all sorts of horrific conditions, whether from animal hoarders, agribusiness or plain neglect, is that “You are safe, you are loved, and you matter”.
The 150-acre property offers signature programs that include Youth Education, Tours and Tastings, and Compassionate Cuisine that encourages community involvement and awareness. To learn more about the refuge, visit the website.
